Hi Kamil, thanks for the feedback and I hope for your forgiveness for my late reply. the dispatcher tried to register a new pair (USDCHF) into the database and this action failed because the broker could not be registered. This failure occured ...

Hi Mevo, according to my memory I've read an posting on the Oanda forum stating this deliberately. The posting dated from 2011 or so. Unfortunately the only thing which is remaining currently from this is a forum entry on myFXBook where some other ...

Hi FXEZ, thanks a lot for the link. On the "Sample Code" section of the link above there's exactly that kind of quickstart I was looking for. :-) Even a reference implemention of streaming quotes in PERL is in their GIThub repo. Great! Then I went ...

I do not agree to the opinion that MT is at fault. This pattern looks to me like some systematic ripoff of the clients regardless of the platform. If the spread widens in both directions during any anomaly then shorts as well as longs are exposed to ...

I wondered what might have been the cause for your opinion. And in fact - this spread robbery does not occur in every pair Oanda provides and you're probably trading one of the less affected pairs. Here's the list of all pairs I'm monitoring and ...

Nope - 12 minutes. Two other brokers I'm monitoring had not that kind of pattern around this very 45 seconds. And the pattern during in tick data on the news at 14:30 was clearly different from pattern at 14:18. This spread ripoff today at 14:18 ...

One question which might come up - as the average hides the spread rippoff of Oanda: How often does it occur? Well - the average spread over the last 9 days in XAUUSD was: select avg((dask - dbid)/point) as spread from t_mt4_pairdata p join ...

Thanks a lot. I made a "What-If"-Szenario using QuantAnalyzer4 and discarded in the trade set of the failed backtest: All trades except (09:00 Etc/GMT to 10:00 Etc/GMT) and (15:00 Etc/GMT to 16:00 Etc/GMT) All trades on Mondays and Fridays. as that ...

Hi Abokwaik, thanks for implementing this strategy. However, I've let it run through 2010-06-01 until 2015-10-09 on Dukascopy tick data and it failed on the long run because the hit rate went down to 13%. Note that 2010 and 2015 are the only years ...

Look again, please. At 14:18 Europe/Berlin, from when the example was taken, there was no news. Just some stoploss robbery. image The price action from the 14:30 news event was like this: image

@Olsen-Yersen: Limit orders are of no use if the spread pattern is like this in XAUUSD today: image Compare this spread-bonanza above with the spreads from $OTHERBROKER during the same period in the same pair: image Or the most gappy ...

Yeah - cewl - this means not even the communications infrastructure has some redundancy. This might seed thoughts about their database or application redundancy - which is much more expensive than some redundant switches and comm-lines.

But of course! Provided you're above 90 years old and you're showing a written confirmation of your current age by your granddad.

Just for the records: I also manually tried to close my GER30 short @ 9582 at 9475 but to no avail. They did not even honor the take profit @ 9480. Somehow I'm sure they will honor the stoploss in breakeven. image MT4 logfiles are saved. ...

Technical maintenance during the US session on a thursday? A good idea! (given you're a broker and you do not want your clients to take their profits home) image The MT4 bridge is also down since 15 minutes.

Now this is cool. Neither $OTHERBROKER nor FXCM did deliver a tick with 135.832 at the given time "19:19:24 Etc/GMT" (which translates to 21:19:24 Europe/Berlin) to my VPS. image Now this is getting interesting. This reeks like Customer-based ...

Howdy Jason, bet cha don't know how glad I was to get about 150Pts instead of 100 pts because of this glitch ... ;-) Was that stressed by this bug that I missed a long entry into the US30 though. The order management EA I'm using tried about >2000 ...

All in all the downtime of the GER30 pair was from 15:17 CEST until 15:54 CEST. Saved the screenshots and the logs - just in case someone might need some evidence. As one can see there were no ticks from FXCM during the washout period between 15:31 ...

Hi Jason, what's going on in the GER30 pair? I'm currently trying to close my positions (well in profit) since about half an hour. It does not even honor the takeprofit of one trade. image The chart also differs from $OTHERBROKER as well as the ...
