There are a number of patterns that occur frequently in all instruments that have highly predictable outcomes and we can speculate as to whether these patterns are created by algos, smart money, crowd behaviour etc. I believe it to be the former ...

I joined the group two weeks ago. We don’t all use the same strategy but I believe most trade for a living and behave like the professionals that we are. It is a polite, sharing and encouraging group and so I can see why many FF members may not feel ...

I am also experiencing quite a lot of success with the angle indicator. My setup currently has two versions, a fast one and a slower one. If the market is very slow, I will trade a signal on either and am content to grab a couple of pips (they add ...

Some nice examples of the angle giving warning of the move running out of steam. The steep moves are shown by the signals and the red line shows daily highs. The ellipses are what I look for where price has had a steepish run up/down and then makes ...

As part of my journey to discover expansion limits, this is something I have been using successfully for a couple of weeks and have been sharing with a colleague who has also found it beneficial so I thought I'd share to give you something to play ...

Arghhh this is driving me crazy! I have been at this game a very long time (some of us are even older than George ) and I think there are many ways to make money, especially if you are a scalper and are content to take ...

I'd like to share a rather simplistic but effective way of drawing future boundaries. I am a scalper and use it on 1min charts but you can use it on any tf, just be aware that it can take longer and run into greater DD the larger the tf. Choose any ...

So, if I'm reading this correctly, we have a breakout above the upward channel = possible expansion limit. Followed by thin liquidity on the tick chart. Good time to fade the move?

Interesting insight Rick, thanks. I only trade indices these days, currency pairs seem too slow in comparison now that I have discovered them. I also trade the 1min chart and until recently used MP's of various tf's but currently I am using only ...

This thread has gone a bit quiet so I thought I'd throw something into the mix. I have been interested in gaps for some years but learnt the hard way not to try to best guess when price would close them. But recently I have been noticing another ...

Yes Chris, all pairs and all timeframes. I trade mostly indices these days as I am a scalper and they tend to give you more movement which helps when trading the lower tf's. This may be over simplistic but I see the gaps as the tracks of the algo ...

Real or algo? Let me think

Thanks for the clarification Rick. My brain has a hard job dealing with curves and wavy lines on charts so I will continue to just watch for the speed of the move and gaps appearing to try to spot a limit approaching.

Hi Rick, Many thanks for your illuminating posts, it makes a great deal of sense to me. So you are now convinced that the limiting expansion is a curve rather than the straight line of a larger, perhaps not obvious channel?

I am finding that adding a channel onto the 1min chart that represents the 15min channel (15x8=120ema channel) is proving helpful and can indicate early entries

Very many thanks, Hanover. Such a useful addition!

This strategy is so robust it can be traded in many ways and for the scalpers among you, this may be of interest. I am totally in awe of Laura and how she can achieve the massive, long held trades that she does but my temperament is different and I ...

channel break on oil

For me the CompRSI is king and I wouldn't want to trade short against a CompRSI > 65 or long if it was <35. So I would look elsewhere for a trade if trading back to the ADR would contravene that. You can probably find plenty of examples where it ...
