I have been testing a simple Momentum Strategy on a micro Live Account over the last few weeks on the 1 hour TF with reasonable results... I have extended the same concept out to the 4 hour chart to see if it would be easier to trade/give better returns on a longer TF...
Even on the 4H TF it is good at picking up the change in longer term trends... (See Below) Especially this latest early May stratospheric move up on the NAS100 (NASDAQ)
(NASDAQ 4 Hour Heikin Ashi Chart)
I use a 5 Period Mom Indicator with a cross above the 100.6 for a Buy signal and a cross below the 99.4 level to trigger a Sell signal... Two methods of closing out the open position... Either a cross back above (Short Position) or below (Long Position) of the Momentum 100 level or a change of colour of the Heikin Ashi Candles. I have tried to enable Price Action level/strength/impulse control of Risk Management as should be visible in the displayed screenshots.
Have also been trialling results off the US500 (S&P500) and the AUDUSD... Which currently uncannily all look the same...
I code my own Algo's... I have automated entries and exits due to the low volume of signals using this strategy on the larger TF's which has been moderately profitable with such small position sizing... Positive and Negative Feedback/ideas/developments...??? Cheers
