Did you hear any alert sound when the candle color changed....? I see that option in the settings box of the EA but, so far I've not heard an alert sound. Since Renko candles are non-time-dependent, it would be nice to have an alert for when a bar closes and the candle color changes. Each new candle could be an hour long or 15 minutes long.... one will never know. I don't really want to stare intently at my screen for hours on end.

Sorry no I didn't and wasn't aware it was there, in fact just had a look and I can't see an alert input?? What alert input are you referring to???

I am not going to keep trolling this thread, but i would be very interested if you would be so kind as to post an explorer (your real account or demo) after a few weeks of trading this system and show us how you are going with those results. My last dig is to say that sorry mate, but if you have just been introduced to Renko and Heiken Ashi charts via this thread, then you are most definitely in the newbie category. Rant over. Back to fairyland.

It's always better when peeps don't troll threads. If you like a thread then contribute, if not move on to one that you do like. Not saying you are a troll, as these seam to come in pairs on FF! However I never follow the show us your explorer / statement / profit and loss / whatever, posts. Whether the OP can trade it profitably, is of no indication that you or I could. The only thing that matters is, can we take the OP's idea and make it our own, to make more pips than we were before.

Don't let the trolls & Knockers get to you mate. Your system IS simple. It just takes patience & as with ALL systems, Discipline. Traders have to learn to recognize consolidation when they see it. Best then to move on to another pair which is still trending until the consolidation is over.

Hi Jaquemate thanks for sharing your simple method for trading and also want to thanks to Clivepackham for his valuable inputs.

Yestarday i did some trial on this method. so net loss is -18 pips.

Today I took two trades which I incorporate with Daily time frame analyses.
UJ close trate at +32 pips (Could have gain 20 more pips but was not in front of my laptop)
GJ close trade at +62

Here is another handy indicator i found, which may help with people testing on multiple pairs. It gives an alarm when the renko bars change color.

Thank You Vantage - I am trying a way to use these Renko bars but filter out the bad trades, what do you suggest - using a trendline?

I have looked at renko bars before but never traded live with them. But I'll work on the understanding that there's nothing new in trading and that renko bars won't suddenly be the answer to all your trading woes. What a renko bar might do is give YOU something that you can easily visually relate to.

But generally it will come down to trend v support/resistance and generally trend will continue until it hits a SR level. At that stage then you need to watch what the reaction is.

Decide on a definition of your higher TF trend, the thread starter says D trend but I don't recall seeing an actual definition, apologies if I missed it. There are other things that you can take into account such as:

- trades in your direction in and around LO,
- can you see clear bases forming (earlier chart post showed clear examples), this might be below your ema's if you choose to add them,
- has LO failed to move in one direction if so a move in the opposite direction is more likely (hey Jacquemate did say keep it simple),
- has LO had a quick 50-70 pip move if so good chance thats it for an hour or two,
- if London morning session has been quiet then US session normally comes to the rescue (again Jacquemate refers to ADR and its generally going to get there)
- research the moves of pairs in the times you can trade and never cease to be amazed how strongly pairs like gbpaud, gbpjpy, gbpnzd (and the same for eur) can trend.

I have my definition of trend, get Jacquemate's and start researching renko moves in line with trend. Double bottoms that revert to trend, HH that breaks the immediate range and either TL break or positive candle close entry a pip or two above for buys (so you'll have HH, HL flow) and opposite for sells.

Start with the end in sight, have a look at this euraud chart with SR levels highlighted. We have just exited a 323 pip move up from the last bounce up off the lower SR level (chart posted on my thread). You decide what your trend definition is then from that day start looking at the renko moves on 5 or 10 pip renko charts whatever you decide on. As you'll be buying how do things look around Asian session, LO, pre US open and post US news. Look at the above list, bases, double bottoms, HL's - reverting to uptrend.

Find some charts where D is drifting and go through renko charts again, how do things look.

My apologies to the thread starter but I believe you'll be immensely better off getting some background rather than just do it, this might be more than Jacquemate intended but it seems he has been through the what the heck do I do now rollercoaster.

It might indeed be as simple as he says (ok but not necessarily easy). What I would never dispute is higher TF trend definition, lower TF entry into trend (buy dips in uptrend, sell rallies in downtrend) is about as basic as it gets.

I have subscribed to thread and looking forward to see if this old dog can learn some new tricks.

PS I never change my methods until I am thoroughly comfortable, researched and certain they are an improvement.

Sorry was typing above list off the top of my head and forget to add, how do things look on renko charts when you approach a proven resistance level as euraud clearly has done.

Bendertrader have a look at Jacquemates charts, trend is time frame dependent. As has been highlighted D can be in downtrend but the shorter term can be moving up counter trend. You want to be waiting for your short term flow to be in line with bigger pic trend.

Hi everyone:

I read some post about the difficult to trade renko bars by the market randomnes.

But the answer is not in the renko bars. The answer only can give the higher time frame trend. Thats all.

This charts show how to identify a pair trending and a pair dont trending. Starting to Daily trend you can see GBPAUD is not a good pair for trade today.

In Daly charts i see a DOWN TREND but yesterday was a strongest bullish sesión and Daily Heichen Ashi is GREEN. I dont know when Price go. But i dont like this pair.

Hoewer, if you are a intraday trader you can take trades today but my target is so long.
