yeah definitely what I'm thinking. Reading some articles about using the ATR to determine brick size.

thanks for your help. not posting my trades today because I'm learning the painful lesson that high volume =/= less choppiness (granted this is basically a demo account for testing this strategy) Looking into adjusting brick size more dynamically ...

I'm actually trying to understand that myself because this is the first time I've used tick charts. Apparently its a 50 tick chart but before I uploaded the template I had to set the original chart to 1 minute with the renko bars. Probably sound ...

Trades from today. Thinking of only trading the New York open from now on to try and avoid low volume. Just for the record on that last trade I didn't hold through those red candles by willpower. Multiple candles were just printing at the same time ...

Maybe the way I'm marking the trades just isn't accurate. If I enter or exit right at the very moment a new bar prints I mark the transaction as having occurred on that new bar.

For the second trade you said to exit a bar sooner but how could I do that if I need to wait for a bar to close in the opposite direction in order to signal the exit? Just to be clear my exit was on the second red bar.

Trades I took today in XAUUSD. The first one was obviously terrible and I almost cried. I exited there because the candle turned blue but as you can see didn't close blue. I guess I should only use candle closes. Second trade not much to say, maybe ...

yeah the second trade entry candle was white when I entered but it repainted. So for a valid entry you're waiting until the candle closes outside the emas? I've just been setting 30 pip SL for all the trades but trying to exit before that based on ...

Do you avoid going long in these boxed sections because you think it might just be consolidation before another leg down? image
- ZamRelic replied Jan 26, 2024
Trades from today and yesterday. Not great but not terrible I guess. Yesterday started out getting caught up in consolidation taking two unnecessary losses. Finally gathered what price action was doing and had one winning long. Next day I thought up ...

On these trades I didn't have a stop loss set. My plan was just to monitor them and exit on the first opposite colored candle. In other situations I've been known to move SL up when price goes my way or to move it to BE after I'm in profit, trail it ...

Yeah I definitely have a problem exiting trades at the first minute sign of weakness rather than waiting for a clear signal. It feels good to relieve the stress of holding a winning position but overtime I think it'll kill my account.

Here's the first two live trades I've made attempting to use your system. First trade I entered on macd cross and bull candle breakout of ema. Exited because macd printed a lower high, the candle turned red, and price was approaching resistance ...

I loaded all the files from LiboCop's post into MT5. Everything looks fine but I can't place orders on the chart. Is this normal? image
- ZamRelic replied Jan 22, 2024
thanks for the insights. I'm personally struggling with false signals in my systems. Hard to understand how to avoid pic rel- I guess the macd just looked kinda weak right? image That entry would have worked out anyway but might have been stopped ...
