Wanted to give this indicator twist a thumbs up. It's perfect on M5 along with trading pivots. Price might not always reach a Pivot or Mid-level, but having the M15 on an M5 chart is an excellent decision maker in a ranging market. Oh, and I'm using ...

Hope you have read and studied other things than what is posted on this site... A lot of learning is a good approach because it leads to self-reliance... You determine what is worthwhile... Of course there are so many ways to trade, and many can ...

Hello. Your free advice is of interest. What is the main reason using a SL is bad? Is it because the big money likes to do stop-loss hunting? I attempt to make money trading mostly EURCAD, and would say that there are definitely pitfalls with this ...

Some thoughts: Apparently you find that there are enough counter-trend movements worth trading. If a trend has enough significant counter-trend movements, then it is not a very strong trend. Maybe that's partly a condition of today's Forex market. ...

My Own Take I replied once to Nihilist's post to thank him, and just want to say more in praise... I find the indicators Ultra_ADX_Dash, Ultra_Trend_V2, Trend Filters 1&2 to be enormously useful. And the myRSIOMA oscillator, though it lags, produces ...

I feel somewhat of the same way, only I've been doing Forex for a shorter time. (I started trading with binary options... a mistake...) I've heard that the market is rigged (from an informed source!) and that Forex is more difficult than it used to ...

Hello- One point that still confuses me is regarding the use of indicators on various time frames. When looking at M15, H1, H4, and D1 charts, the indicators usually give contrary signals. You could take the logical view that indicator signals on ...

It's the delay between when price starts to move significantly in one direction and the time the indicator gives you a signal. The change in price action always starts some bars ahead of indicators. All indicators lag because they are derived from ...

Heispark, thanks for your response and encouragement. (I like snappy answers to stupid questions.) More: 1. It is logical that Nihilist's ADX would use DMI for determining direction, but do you know for this for certain? Has this issue been dealt ...

Well I am happy to have discovered this trading "system" or simply group of indicators, and have been demoing it for a few days. It's simple and colorful, something that appeals to me since I come from a background of artistic training. (And I am ...

Well I wondered if your mess of indicators would add up to something, and actually set it up... yes I got it working. Then I find that halfway through this forum, you reveal that it's really supposed to be a joke... This pretty much confirms my ...

I just found your method and have been back-trading... so far it does find many good entries, and it's great to find this new approach using MA's. I only look at MA's when ADX says the trend is strong and the MA's align in proper order showing trend ...

Really messy - way too many indicators... Heck, I bet it's just as good using the ol' stochastic on an M5 chart or entering on engulfing candlesticks... might have a go with this out of curiosity, but my preference is for a simple approach.

My advice: All of them! Or least several time-frames. It is worthwhile to look at a currency pair on a monthly chart over its entire history. You'll get an overview, see the big picture. Is it trending or consolidating? Has price declined/increased ...

I read Eelfranz's advice as well, and started demoing TDI+Stochastic... My conclusion: the Stochastic is actually a better indicator than TDI because it lags behind the market less. However, I will say that if you change TDI's settings (default 13 ...

I wanted to thank Eelfranz (does he still read this?) for sharing the information on TDI and how to find good signals. (Such a long thread indeed! Read first 34 pages...) I've been demoing with TDI since 5/15/16, but now with the stagnant summer ...
