EIA report reveals a weekly fall of 81 billion cubic in U.S. natural-gas supplies
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Thursday that domestic supplies of natural gas fell by 81 billion cubic feet for the week ended Jan. 11. Analysts polled by S&P Global Platts had forecast a decline of 77 billion cubic feet, on average, though the five-year average decline stands at 218 billion. Total stocks now stand at 2.533 trillion cubic feet, down 77 billion cubic feet from a year ago, and 327 billion below the five-year average, the government said.
