Awsome indicator. I have been looking for this for a few weeks. I actually Googled it and got the link.

This will now allow me to go to sleep and wait for a trendline break. I have been using another charting package, at $50.00 per mo, just for this feature.

The Alerter EA has been updated slightly. It's now an indicator and has a nifty little label displayed in upper right corner of chart identifying which types of alerts are active.

Nothing wrong with the old version, keep using it if it works for you.

Great indicator. Is there a way to change which sound it uses for the alert. I tried Tools--> Options --> Events and changed the Alert event and as soon as I clicked off of the drop down, it reverted back to the default Alert.wav

Any help would be great. I set it up on a 4HR TF and when the Price breaks the Trend line, I go look at the computer. When I am away from the house or outside, I send it to my blackberry.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Tesla, i'm relatively new to coding and trying to learn as much as I can. I was wondering what code and where to add it, if I want this or any other indicator to sound, email, alert until I shut it off. I'm away from my computer at times and use text messages and sound to alert me whether awake or asleep. One sound or text message is not always enough to get my attention.

I put the code on the indicator below and it had some errors probably because certain variables on this indicator are not defined earlier in the code.
I thought there might be a general command for all indicators to continuously alert. I read something about sleep(10000) but couldn't find any more info on it or even if its what I need.

I liked this indicator so much, that I have extended it a little:

- it can now alert on rectangles, fib retracements & fib expansions (as well as trendlines)
- there is no need to add a description to the objects, you can ask the indicator to alert on all objects of a specified type

settings:
AddAlerts = true;
when false, you add a description to the object as before
when true, there is no need to add a description to the object, the indicator will alert once each bar when price is within range.

AlertDist = 10;
distance in pips that will generate an alert

AlertsHLine = true;
alerts on horizontal lines

AlertsTLine = true;
alerts on trendlines

AlertsRect = true;
alerts on rectangles

AlertsFib = true;
alerts on fib retracements

AlertsFibExp= true;
alerts on fib expansions

DisplaySettings= true;
will display the settings in the top RH corner of a chart
e.g. the default settings display A: CEP+10HTRFE meaning
A: CEP Alerter active, output Comments, E-mail & Pop-up
+10 will alert at 10 pips without labelling objects
HTRFE will alert on Horizontal lines, Trendlines, Rectangles, Fibs retracements & fib Expansion

CommentAlert= true;
Will output alerts as comment on top left of screen

EmailAlert = true;
Will output alerts as e-mail

PopupAlert = true;
will output alerts as pop-ups

Where on the setup upon invocation of this alerter do I find the opportunity to SET THE LEVEL WHERE I WANT the ALERT to Occur.

is there anybody who has or knows an indicator who gives me a signal when a candle is opend and closed above or below a particurly trendline and i can draw these trendlines byself with the hand ?

I like Alerter4U and I want to thank you and Tesla for this great indicator. I would like to add Bollinger Band to the list but I do not know how. I want this alerter to work not only for the list you provided above but also when price touches the upper and lower bands. Do you have any advice?

This is nice Indicator,... but I'd like to change the "SoundFile" so that It doesn't sound like all other indicators on all my charts and so I'll be able to distinguish it and also find which chart its on with the PopupAlert. I tried adding " PaySound ( ); ".but then I lose the PopupAlert, I need both.
i'm sorry to ask this dumb question..what is the best TF for this indicator? can i apply it to lower TF??

Hey Brotha- This isn't really a dumb question. Basically this 'indicator' (I would be more inclined to call it a tool - or an alarm) can be applied to any time frame. All we are doing here is drawing a line on the chart and saying "if price goes beyond this line, alert me!"

This is for all of us who have slept through (or been doing other things) and missed a ton of pips - especially frustrating when you have been WAITING for the exact move that happens when you are away from your computer.

So, to answer your question, use any timeframe you would like to use, it is up to you.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful alert indicators! I wonder anyone knows if there is any indicator available that could generate an alert when the price touch a moving average, says, 200MA, instead of MA crossover?

And how about an alert indicator when the price breaks the Bollinger Bands?
