How to Calculate ROI in Forex

Hello,

I found lots of ROI formulas, but none for Forex specifically. I'd like to know my ROI for each trade. Here is one formula that I found:

ROI = (Gains from Investment - Cost of Investment) ÷ Cost of Investment

Gains of Investment = Net Profit

What is the Cost of Investment in Forex? Does it refer to Lots? And, if it does, a mini lot for example, then how do you translate it into a formula?

I would appreciate any comment, any help. I spent hours with this, but I can't figure it out.

I don't think it needs to be more complicated than that, even for forex.

Thanks broketrader, I found that calculator too, but I am looking for a definite formula that I can put into my Excel spreadsheet. I'd rather like to understand those concepts in the formula in terms of Forex.

Why do you want to know each ROI of each your trade ? Do you do short terms only or something really long term have present as well ? Poster here have provided you with very cool calculator which may solve all your needs when needed really. But please keep us posted about your overall journey. How much have you already invested in all that, how does that sounds to you and all else which present ? How do you want to go around that ? How much money you already invested ?

On the website it's not clear to me, what is the Amount Invested? In Forex what does that mean? Does it refer to lots?

My understanding is that for example, you put 1000$ on an Forex account on which you will trade ok ?
After a year, on that same account you have 1200$ then your ROI for that year will be 200$ or 20%, that's it, I think it's not more complicated than that.

Correct; it’s simple but represents the answer! We all traders need to set our targets according to our own trading performance!
