Thank you for the kind words Valentina, compounding is something I still do, keeping the risk the same on every trade against my new balance, but its not something you should try until you have a clear understanding of what looks to be an A+ trade and only going for those. At first you should practise, practise and practise. Post trades here that you take so that we can take a look at them. Good luck with your trading

what in your opinion are the key ingredients that make up an A+ trade lisa? ..or high probability trade

I opened a new account late february ..am risking 1.25% of my account on each trade, and since late february am up 10%. I know it's not much ..but it's a damn side better than my other account which just seemed to get lower and lower each week until the time came it was margin called.

I work full time now, so am often too tired to trade london [although i am available to trade it, but just usually too tired] ..so i am not trading as much as i would like

Well I primarily I like to see 3 timeframes agreeing with each other, so on either m15 agreeing with H1 and H4. I don't particularly look at the "trend" on the higher timeframes but the single candles or candle patterns, along with s/r, divergence etc. I have found if I look at all 3 and I say the word "but" to myself then I shouldn't take it I now have all 3 on the screen at all times then I can just glance otherwise I can easily miss something I should have seen. I have the supply and demand indicator that Likica uses but only on h4 I found it puts me off on the lower ones, along with the normal pivot indicator we use.

I've been posting on pips29's thread because I have been using the ma's that he has on his and so seems better to post my trades there. I have the ma cloud on my smaller timeframe chart and look for a close either above or below depending on whether its a sell or buy which seems to help a lot also.

And well done on the 10% gain, that is very good.

I think your approach does sound like a good one

I will start looking at that thread some more too..
I think its very good because it concentrates a lot on PA.

It still needs more testing but I am thinking conditions similar to the one I posted a few posts back where I had hidden div on m30 and h4 and went short into the trendline which was blocking my way ...are the sorts of trades which may work.

I tried a setup like that again [didn't post it] and this time price hit the trendline, reversed and stopped me out, so I am thinking probably best to not assume it will plow through any oncoming support and to wait for a clear path, ....but these sorts of setups with support from the higher timeframe i think are more likely to reach their targets.

most of my hidden divergence trades are winning now, so i'm going to assume the trendline was why that one failed and not me doing something else wrong.

The more I use the H4, the more and more I notice how the condition of the H4 can effect trades on m30.....
when sh*t starts to align the trade is more likely to succeed....

Do what already worked for you, and to help you as you mentioned retracement, you might like to keep an eye at 61.8%fib and look left to see what price was doing recently at that location. Be more selective with your entries and do not fall into those traps entering at shallow retracements because it surely comes back and kick you out if you set tight stop-losses.

Attached image is an illustration of a hidden divergence (purple lines)+ regular divergence (small white lines)@61.8%Fib + S/R. Try and see the results yourself. I remember I mentioned locations locations locations many times. Nothing is new to add, the method hardly fail, only most traders fail to apply correctly as told.

I understand your reluctance to reply, as a long time follower I know how hard you have had to work to keep the thread focused on TMS, and I thank you for your reply.
You are right about shallow retracements, unfortunately, I have not been able to quantify a safe retracement size and suspect that it cannot be done. At any given time a retracement no matter what size can go in either direction return to trend or reverse. So I might have to abandon that technique.

I will add the 61 fibo and see if I can use that.

I am really glad you mentioned divergence because hidden divergence has baffled me for years.

For the life of me, I cannot see how hidden divergence is predictive in real time. To me, it is an example of failed divergence. Looking at your example chart, the purple lines appear to be indicating bearish divergence. It is only after the short segment of bullish divergence that you can say "Oh there was a hidden divergence". So am I correct, you cannot recognize valid hidden divergence until the price action has turned in the opposite direction? Or am I missing something?

A hidden divergence is a name for a continuation signal of a current trend. If a current trend is bearish (when price making LH LL or after a bearish regular divergence) then jumping in a bearish hidden div probably produce nice pips until an opposite div appears which is a sign of reverse (current trend will end soon). I am not here to give definitions of div and hidden div, but trying to clarify my chosen setup. (go to babypips.com if anyone is still confused about these two)

but the trade never took off and then a continuation setup appeared in the opposite direction, and by looking at the higher timeframes i eventually pulled the trade a few pips early as i didn't really see it recovering

due to the fact i don't enter trades with RR's less than 1:2 means i'm still up for the day
