RULES Minimum starting balance of 1000 units of a major currency (or ¥100000) in a real account. Whoever does it in smallest numbers of days wins. There is a maximum draw down limit of ~50%. Competition ends 1 month after any participant finishes the 100% equity growth and comes first. This is to give other traders who might be close behind a chance to continue on and come 2nd, 3rd and so on. Trade Forex/Metals/Indices....

Why $1000 to start with? Is that to make the stakes high so it looks more of a serious competition? Or is it that if one loses they receive more of a punishment?
If anyone can double $100, they probably can double 1K just the same. What if you have $10 to begin with? Is the job of doubling $10 any easier?

i think you should have just gone by %. You kind of already are since $2000 is allowed. I guess it's your contest anyway.

Just a line in sand mate. Had to draw it somewhere. 1000 is nice little round figure which is not too low in absolute terms and make maths kind of easy.

Although even right now 1000 gbp is worth like 1800 aud. So intention was not too be super strict on it. But keep it decent so it can motivate even those who might live in first world countries and at the same time not bankrupt any one.

lol. I live in a 1st world country and my funds are super tied up in trading and I'm not investing any more in FX. What I have will have to carry me to the stars lol. I got my motivations already. Best of luck.

I might start an unofficial parallel $100 on the side for myself since what the winner wins is their prize anyway.

Yea, moneyzilla is actually the only person who have asked for more 1000 starting balance. And I can understand that... MT4 after all has a limit of 0.01 lot minimum position size.

Most other want lower starting. But then I reckon people like me and moneyzilla won't participate. So this competition lies some where between demo competitions and those 100,000 initial balance futures trading competitions.

What an embarrassing session. I am very amazed how hard it was to trade knowing that the results will be public. Rules went out of the window. I tried too hard. Made a personal record of # of trades in a day. Just traded too much. Paid more in commissions (5%) than I made (also, discounted commissions have still not been setup-ed). But at least my broker is happy.

It was first day trading in public. Kinda knew that I will suffer stage freight and had disconnected all copying to real account and only traded competition account. A lot of yo-yo and impulsive trading. Hopefully will grow out of it if not by tomorrow then by end of this week. Secondly, with A$1000 competition account, the amount of open PnL looked too little in absolute terms, which gave false sense of security.

Forgive me, but I could not understand a thing. The TE shows inactivity, as mine? Am I wrong? I am now waiting for a D1 channel break on the upside to jump on it...

It doesnt show anyting before opened trade if you have made a trade if you have opened and closed a trade you need too contact support
