I think Japan is about to intervene... Today during US Session or tomorrow at latest. I think this thing is over... USD/JPY won't reach 155 in my opinion. If I was conducting intervention I would start today before USD/JPY gets out of hand. Intervention produces around 600 pips, so waiting USD/JPY to breach 155 or go even pip more isn't wise. USD/JPY would be above 150 very fast again. It's now or never. All CB heads and MoF are gathering due to IMF Meetings and this will be joint intervention.

Why would the Japanese intervene? They benefit massively with a devalued yen, can you explain m8??

Mark my words, Japan will highly probably intervene today or do something about the weak JPY, because this is getting ridiculous...

It's bad because whatever Japan imports costs more. Today's move is huge and came out of the blue sky, literally.

Either Japan intervenes here and now or they have decided to destroy Yen's value completely and its purchasing power.

If that's the case, JPY is about to experience a hell ahead.

After better than expected US sales figures you would have expected GU and EU to continue south but the opposite is happening, the bullish action looks like it will continue into the rest of the NY session

this data us is putting out are smokescreen the us value is plummeting people are seeing through it that's why silver and pul and gold are skyrocketing us dollar is losing its hold at the top

So in order to intervene they would have to dump US dollars and right now that could spell disaster for the Japanese, is there other ways to do this or are they going to resort to jawboning??

In my opinion they will either intervene or come out with some major news regarding rate hikes (either the size of rate hikes or the amount of rate hikes planned).

I think threatening phase is over and has failed miserably and wouldn't work at all anymore.
Did you notice how quiet they are for the past couple of days even though USD/JPY went through 152 and even got to 154.4.

154.00 Usd/Jpy almost as high as it was in 1990 right about the time the never ending session hit the Japanese which strongly suggests they want a weaker yen
Here in Australia at that time the Japanese were buying up big in Australia which caused a massive stir but once their recession hit they faded away.....hoping this will happen with the Chinese but not holding my breath lol

The uptrend you saw is what is called liquidity sweep and that has nothing to do with a change in the downward bias . The downtrend remain valid as long as 1.2530 holds as resistance
