hi neild, i loaded the cavmgr on my eur 1m and it directs to aud/usd.. ( see attaached ) can u advise ?

also i got this errror from the EA..

09:32:57 SwissArmyMixedhistoV4.48 EURUSD,M1: ShortName for WindowFind function must be an initialized string
09:32:57 SwissArmyMixedhistoV4.48 EURUSD,M1: unknown subwindow number -1 for ObjectCreate function

i've checked the logs everything is loaded successfully...

Hi knightz, wait till the market opens tomorrow and give it another go, I have posted my updated Cavemanager set files on the page before this one maybe use that one. I have never experienced those problems, its strange and we both are using the same br.oker also.

Great results but you really have to improve your risk/reward ratio.

Makes no business sense risking 40 pips for a few pips here and there. yes i agree you rarely have losing trades but what happens when something gets said in the market making your stop get hit immediately as markets blast. It would take you like 10-20 trades to make back your loss.

Hi Bl888, thanks for feedback thats what I am looking for, I did have it at 20 pips for the Euro and my SL did get hit during market news. I then went and read a few posts about the EUR/USD and I read a post about setting SL higher for the EUR/USD due to the movement being stronger then other pairs. I can see your point all it would take is 2 losses on the Euro in a day and I am 80 pips down. As I am a new trader and open to other peoples idea's and opinions what would you set a SL for the Euro at, and the other pairs.

For me when i set a stops trading on the M1 i use 2 options:

1) 14 pips
2) Prev low for longs and prev high for shorts.

If you also look for PA on the M5 then you can guage the liklihood on stength of trade.

For me my absolute min risk reward is 14 stop to 20 TP. Off course its not always possible to get 20 BUT you have to be willing to let the winners run (use banking and scaling in).

I guess you already know it, but a trader's day starts with the printing of today's schedule of the news, and stick it on your screen.
You should NEVER trade during the big news, and you have to manage how to close your position when time is coming...

I know the temptation is strong and maybe you'll miss the jackpot of the month, but maybe you'll loose your capital! And then you're dead for several days to recover your drawdown, maybe weeks, or forever.

Thanks Bl888 and namasteparis for your input, thats what a new trader like me needs some sound advice. I will put my SL on the Euro back to 20 and will see how todays trades go and do some more reasearch on SL. Then I may come up with a lower SL figure for what I am doing. I had a demo acount with my broker but they only give one month, once you go live they will give you a non expiring one, but you must ask for it, so its time to ask.
Here is my first Long trade for the day, wasn't the best entry example but did bag me 4 pips. I closed this trade manually because I could see where it was going. No harm in closing a trade manually if you get a bad feeling.

ahhhh....i see how u've been accomplishing this.... by an extremely low spread.

i use fxcm. the eur/usd already has the lowest spread. usually averages around 2.6 pips. sometimes it does drop to 1.9. sometimes over 3.0. we have no way of knowing the spread until you execute. it jumps. that means 30 seconds ago, the spread could be 2.1. but 30 seconds later, 2.7. and 3 seconds later 1.9. it jumps all over the place. they are not cheating you. you could see the spread is 2.7. then you execute the order. and the spread could be 2.1. basically it jumps all over the place.

it would be horrible business to trade getting 6 pips everytime. or 4 pips. and giving 3 of that to the broker.

you have some form of a martingale strategy going. your win rate needs to be astronomical just to break even long term. probably over 90%. actually, definately over 90%. even if there was no such thing as spreads you would need a 90% win rate. with spreads, i don't even know how to calculate it.

anybody who followed this method who had normal broker spreads, would be wiped out. for every 1000 pips they made, probably around 300->400 pips would go to the broker. those are horrible odds. i would have much better odds playing big small or baccaratt at the casino all day.

Hi Chiba, my broker does give low speads on the Eur/Usd, I am not sure how this will go in the long term. I am playing with a low deposit, and hoping that compound interest will be my friend. If I fail I wasted my time and not my own money, I hope I don't fail but I am a newbie and have to start somewhere, so why not here, and why not document my journey as a newbie trader.

Rather than having a set 20 pip stop ( i find that set stops can kill), this is what i do. I always have my stops at prev lows/highs from pullbacks, if the stop on that is greater than X (i have a set stop per TF) then have the fixed stop at X. If less than X then even better U gotta remember that price always retouches prev s+r levels so stops at that area is better no matter what timeframe you are using. But, you must always stick to your money management.

Pick a better broker..... I use Activ Trades on the interbank platform and my spread is near always 1.6 on EU

Hi Bl888, your correct one day my SL would hurt me and today was the day, I have posted my losses below. I asked my broker to activate a demo account for me, they did but for some reason I couldn't log in. So me being an idiot went and used my live account to test my theory. As you can see all the trades were on the Eur/Usd except 2, I was using an idea I had on Friday which actually got me a good profit on friday, but today it didn't.

From now on I will just stick to my plan on my first post for my live account, and my new ideas strictly for a demo account when I can log in. So today I had a 90% loss, I am still in front because of last week but not by much. It just means I need to do more research about SL. Lesson learnt first hand.

Could you post some screen shots of those that lost? I am looking at some those trades, it appears that you are buying close to some S&R Levels. That last trade was close to a 1.3927 that was tested several times, also that pair should have only been shorted, it been trending down. It looks like you have been entering against the trend.

In fact if you had shorted anytime based on a trix cross during the last session the most the price would have moved against you would have been 8 t0 20 pip before it moved into breakeven/profit.

Key words ....always with the trend.

Thanks Tread, I have alot more to learn in this game, I showed that tonight, I will be keeping to my original game plan from now on. I was just trying something that worked for me friday night, but I was going with the trend then, I guess. I am learning the hard way, time to read more on the other threads.

Add thsis to look at levels. It calculates levels. Change settings to 240 sp it extracts the decent levels. In my opinion dont trade 10 pips into a level as it could bounce in your face.

I was doing more reading in the forum today then trading ended up with a 5% profit. I had one big loss if I stayed in the trade for 3 min longer would of made a nice profit. Still making silly mistakes, but slowly learning.

My wife is not working today so may not get time to trade. I did see a nice set-up but I didn't take it because I am getting ready to go out. Could trade later tonight if I do will post results. I took a screenshot of the trade I was talking about its below.
