Everybody trading Nikkei 225 index, be it CFDs, futures etc., is welcome here.

Edit: the purpose of this thread is to share and discuss.
My Nikkei 225 bias is bearish at the moment: US Ebola fears and D1 Kijun rejection:

The plunge seems to be contained @15,285 for now.
The index is trading sideways today.

Nikkei confirmed this morning a strong closing well above yesterday’s top supporting further strength toward the resistance line at 17’830. Market having overbought conditions while showing potential negative reversals. However I suggest waiting for a possible extension of the move up above 17’600 before trying a short position with a stop above 17’800.
Welcome avibe and Hanmd. Have not been to FF for a while, have not been trading Nikkei either. I think that for now, the index will follow BoJ's statements, moreless.
I am new to trading jp225 and wonder how the risk is calculated.

This is 2 positions i had on my demo account to experiment with lot sizing, it isnt quite the point value i expected

It is up to your broker, how do they leverage and calculate.
Is Grexit going to affect Nikkei?

I do trade Nikkei and mostly when I trade JPy pairs I always check it.

Hello Traderbola and welcome to my thread.

Nice piece of TA you have posted here. It makes sense to me. I am afraid, though, that next week market will be driven more by fundamentals: Greek election outcome and the growing risk of Ukrainian conflict turning into a full-blown Ukraine - Russia war. Global stocks would plummet then, if things went that bad.

What do you think?

Just bear in mind.
Greek Elections might effect NIKKEI.... IMO it depends on how DAX and Euro stock market will react If you compare DAX and NIKKEI we can see positive correlation.....
The chart below says Nekkei follows S&P more than DAX ....... Thus we may not see sensitive reaction........

About Ukrainian conflict, It's gonna be long story... As I'm from Russian speaking country I know Putin is not gonna just accept West's pressure, and respond positively .... as Ex KGB agent Putin will do whatever it takes to regain USSR power again....
Oil price Crisis will pressure Russian economy and who knows what's gonna happen when Russia out of options....
But there is always something called brotherhood with China.... Let's see what's gonna happen....
Last week Swiss move and unstable political environment increased demand for safe havenand Gold just flied higher... Super Mario's QE will be fuel for GOLD for coming days ..... But can JPY attract investors as save haven?? That's a question. Abonomics still on the way... even we had neutral ton from Mr.Kurado last week rumors on FED's rate hike might take USDJPY higher.... and NIKKEI will be under pressure... If we will get something dovish from FED, We might see significant correction with JPY pairs and JPN225....
Just my two cents...

Speaking of geopolitics, I am of an opinion that China would not support either side in the potential Russia - Western world conflict. They would rather play it to reinforce their new global superpower position. As for UJ/Nikkei correlation, cheap yen is generally good for export driven Japanese economy.

Yes Indeed, China will keep the balance between Russia and West..... however Russians may offer an opportunity to China low price commodity supply... In that case China may consider bailout or kind of support.... This deal in geopolitics would drive commodity markets lower and lower.... Since largest consumer in Market has low price supplier other supplier no choice but lowering the price....
