This thread is going to be my playground here at FF, a place where I can use and show of my toys. Feel free to drop by with a "Hello", some encouraging words, tips & trix or whatever you want Be polite to me and Ill be polite to you.


Current toy is an EA who takes trades based on PSAR from multiple timeframes. Ill add a trade explorer in a few moments! More info about the system will be added tomorrow. Now time for some sleep!

The idea behind this system is very simple. Follow the trend. Take a trade when the PSAR on 4 different time frames goes in the same direction. Trail the SL until it reaches a set level and then let the trade run. When the trade reaches this level, I will look for another trade.



Oh, and a small lesson for the day: Make sure to have enough historical data downloaded... I did NOT, so the results so far are pretty much useless It made my ea take trades against the trend and then hit the SL.

Data is now downloaded and i hope that this will improve the results!

Why not use the PSARs for a dynamic exit from one of the timeframes?

Yeah, I could. And maybe I will, eventually But for now I am focusing more on the entry than the exit. When I get most of the trades to lock in at some profit I will focus on the exit and try to bank as much of that profit as possible.


I have some ideas on how to improve the entries a bit more, but I would like to give the EA some "breathing space" and see how it behaves before I start doing changes.
Oh my... I really have to take a look at my code for spread protection. It's set to not take trades when spread is above 3 pips, but have a look at this:

Sellorder triggered at 0,72710, it got filled at 0,72465. Thats like 25 pips...Could have been a decent trade!
I´ve made a few changes to the entry logic and fixed a bug that made the SL level on some trades to be 10 times larger than intended. There is a few trades still open that should have been closed if the bug hadnt been here. I will probably close those trades manually as soon the market opens.

Well, today I learnt that i have to disable the ea during news. Most of the profit got wiped out during the gbp new. Another solution could be to limit the EA to only take one trade on each bar.
