Hi,

Does anybody use straddling during the news?
And which is your broker?
My broker does not allow to straddle anymore so I have to find another broker.
By the way how far do you set yours entries?
Please help!

I set mine to 10 pips.

$traddled this morning with entries at +/- 10 pips on either side of current price at about 8:29:30. Got got filled exactly at the stop order for the buy.

Ya gotta be quick and know your platform.

I would NOT recommend FXDD. Yes, they have slippage. No, they do not have good execution. Yes, their limit orders will be missed.

I moved all of my funds out of FXDD just this week. I've experienced the worst slippage and system down time than any other broker I've worked with. I'm planning on posting a thread with detailed information about my experience.

I would also not read to much into any demo account.

Demo accounts seem to perform perfectly, and then when you go live the rules seem to change.

Just get to know your broker, their rules, and make decisions from your own experiences.

With that being said, just educate yourself, trade within the rules, and if the rules don't suit you, find another broker.

Yep,

One person will think a broker is junk because he is trading $200/pip and is slipped, requoted and given the run-around. Another trading $2/pip will LOVE!! the same broker. Yet, they both manager to voice their opinions at the same place and say exact opposite things .

It is true that large accounts must find their way out of retail. I myself am having these growing pains. Just need to apply myself, send money to 5 brokers at a time... and hope for the best. 3 down, about 10 to go .

Well, i agree with stockwet , there is huge slippage with FXDD even with limit orders. I saw a 28 pip slippage just the other day. Probably you haven't yet experienced it , so just be on the watchout.

I am using GFTFX. I just started using them. My first trade with them was when payroll numbers came out. Had no problems there, but then when I used them for the FOMC announcement I had major slippage. I think I will stick with them but will try a different strategy.
